Often you see in newspapers and other print media that people change their last names for XYZ reasons, some get married some are thrown out of their families and some are more worried about their status. But I doubt i've heard on a blog or a website that people have changed their name.. anyhow here is a little history of what my name has gone thru..
Jagdesh Kumar .. mostly in school life and college because at the time of registration when I was kid obviously for some reason everybody thought that adding "Kumar" suffix was like a cool thing specially in our culture, but apparently kumar is not a name from what I see it, it's a status given to a person. but wotever..
Jagdesh .. for some reason when I got my passport made and my NIC.. there was no Kumar attached in my name, so dang there we go.. Kumar was lost somewhere in the transition of life.
Jagdesh Pahuja Arjandas.. after I got off from college I lived in Dubai from 1999-2003 or so, over there people are called by their Name along with fathers' name such as "Sheikh XYZ bin ABC" so hence my name was also twisted according to their legal documents etc..
Jagdesh Pahuja .. when I returned back to Karachi, Pakistan and joined for bachelors degree in all the forms there was additional field of father's name, so my form looked kind of weird having name field and father's field same except for Jagdesh, so I refilled the forms, with father name Arjan Das and my name Jagdesh Pahuja.. so i ended up in my new identity again!
Jagdishh Pahuja .. as of now writing this post i've twisted my name again for no reason apart from the fact that there is no "Jagdesh" name.. in reality, the real spelling is "Jagdish" and the extra trailing "h" is the special effect of movies (j/k). And Pahuja is my family name or caste, or whatever.
My Declaration
I Jagdishh Pahuja s/o Arjan Das Pahuja here by declare that from 2-Jan-2009 onwards I will be addressed by changed name.
